Graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Information Technology, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Social Psychology. Cumulative GPA of 3.62 upon graduation.

Extracurricular:

Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), June 1998 - June 2000
Was a member of DECA, a vocational-education marketing and business-oriented organization. Held the officer of Manchester H.S. West Chapter Webmaster from October 1999 through late 2000. Took part in several chapter activities, including state conferences in Nashua, NH (March 1999 and 2000) and national conferences in Orlando, FL (April-May 1999) and Louisville, KY (April-May 2000). Participated in the DECA Quiz Bowl, a team event, placing first statewide in 1999 and 2000, placing top-sixteen in 1999 and second nationwide in 2000. Participated in the Virtual Business Challenge, a team event, in 2000. Participated in additional events, winning state honors but not participating at Nationals in order to focus on Quiz Bowl as per competition rules.

Work Experience:

C.R. Sarno, Inc., Candia, NH, July 2004 - Present
Currently managing IT, marketing and logistics operations for a leasing and transportation firm. Transitioned a newly-purchased company from an Access-based enterprise management system to Intuit QuickBooks. Assumed IT support, maintenance and purchasing duties. Designed advertisements and promotional materials. Responsible for daily accounting activities, dispatching drivers for daily deliveries, and maintaining an inventory of over 1000 portable rental units.
Boyd/Steiner, D.M.D, P.C., Bedford, NH, August 1998 - August 2000
Worked as office assistant for small general-dentistry firm in New Hampshire. Staffed front desk and multiline telephone system during late-afternoon hours. Managed paper filing system of over 3,000 active patients. Worked with legacy office management software and assisted in transition to a more modern Windows 98-based office management system. Trained a replacement office assistant. Resigned before moving to college.

Project Experience:

On-Board Communications, Dallas, TX, Fall 2003 (IT Capstone Experience)
Aided in the development of a Web-based front end to interface with an existing client database. Designed the core interface elements and basic HTML framework.
Infinity Development Systems Corporation, Clifton Park, NY, Fall 2002 (Managing IT Resources)
Contracted as part of a work team to develop a purchase order entry system for an Infinity client. Compiled process documentation and served as client liaison between developers and Infinity partners.
Computrend, Inc., Hooksett, NH, Fall 2001 (Exploiting the Information World)
Developed an electronic-commerce Web site to replace Computrend's existing site. Designed the core interface elements and basic HTML framework. Integrated team members' Perl scripting into the HTML framework to implement parsing of a text database.

Skills:

Software: Experience with computer systems based on the Macintosh (through Mac OS X 10.4), Microsoft Windows (through Windows XP Professional), and Linux (some experience with Gentoo) platforms. Application experience includes Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, OSAS Traverse 10, Intuit QuickBooks Pro 2004, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Apache 1.3 and 2.0 and Microsoft Visual Studio 6.

Programming/Development: Some experience with C++. Limited experience with Perl, ASP and SQL applications. Extensive experience with HTML and Web design projects.

Business: Experience with accounting practices. Extensive experience with marketing techniques and concepts. Worked as part of management teams overseeing semester-long development projects.

Other Work Experience:

J.A. Brown General Carpentry & Remodeling, Bedford, NH, May - August 2001-2003
Worked as apprentice for father's construction business on a full-time basis during summer months. Aided in demolition, wall and roof framing, decking, roofing, vinyl siding, window and door installation, drywall, painting, tiling, and finish carpentry. Coordinated projects with subcontractors.
